Hello, I am Mehtap Karakaya.

I graduated in English Language and Literature, from the Faculty of Letters, Ege University . I was awarded my non-thesis masters degree from Akdeniz University in English Language Teaching. In 2005, I went to USA sponsored by a research scholarship from Ege University and started with teaching Turkish to the children of Turkish families who were born in USA. I worked as an abroad education consultant for Turkish students. I worked as a translator and interpreter in English-Turkish for hospitals, companies etc organizations and individual customers in USA. I worked as an English teacher in different companies. Since 2005, I have been studying on Teaching Turkish For Foreigners. In 2008, my book named ‘Turkish For Foreigners’ has been published. I am an expert interpreter and translator at Antalya Court House and right now I am working as an authorised translator, abroad education consultant and expat consultant in Babel Language Centre.

According to the biblical account, Babel was a city that united humanity, all speaking a single language and migrating from the east; it was the home city of the great king Nimrod, and the first city to be built after the Great Flood. The people decided their city should have a tower so immense that it would have "its top in the heavens." However, the Tower of Babel was not built for the worship and praise of God, but was dedicated to the glory of man, with a motive of making a 'name' for the builders - Genesis 11:4. God seeing what the people were doing, confused their languages and scattered the people throughout the earth.
